Overview
2012-08-30
This ICEMR program will support skills training and career development of scientists in malaria research from Southeast Asian countries in the Greater Mekong Subregion (GMS) including Cambodia, China, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand, and Vietnam. This program aims to build local research capacity by provide grant supports to postdoctoral scholars and junior faculty on malaria-related topics. Through research and training, trainees will acquire the scientific knowledge and technical skills necessary to conduct independent malaria research. This may be achieved through mentorship of trainees, supporting research opportunities that leverage samples and data from our ICEMR projects, and attracting young researchers to focus on malaria. Funds are not available to support degree-granting programs.

The training program will be directed by a TAC lead by Drs. Liwang Cui and Guiyun Yan, who will be responsible for the selection of trainees, scientific review of trainee projects, monitoring trainee progress, and overall coordination of activities.
If you are interesting in this program, please contact Dr. Liwang Cui (luc2@psu.edu) or Dr. Guiyun Yan (guiyuny@uci.edu).
